The Story

Every doll keeps a secretToda muñeca guarda un secreto

After her mother returns from a trip to New Orleans, a young girl named Isabella receives an antique corn-husk doll — Chloe. That night she falls asleep reading A Wrinkle in Time, Chloe wakes beside her bed to tell her story: a childhood on a sugarcane plantation, and the daring escape her family made toward freedom. What begins as a strange new toy becomes a friendship that reaches across generations — and a gentle first lesson in a history too important to skip.
